There are no studies in people. Given for a week to unborn lambs with slowed growth, it did not raise their weight. Muscle was not measured.

### Is IGF-1 LR3 safe?

Not known. We found no safety study in people. A 2019 review links growth hormone and IGF-1 to the ways cancers develop.
